ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Hi guys
I am new to this with very little experiance with downhill
I am looking to purchase a board specificly for downhill and more concerned at this stage with making it to the bottom rather than winning any races.
I have been looking through past discussions and there is so much info it is mind bogling.
I already have a board for small hills and cruising around town so i dont think I need to comprimise with this new one and dont want to out grow it either as I get better

I have a budget of about $600 and was looking at perhaps the following
LANDYACHTZ DOWNHILL DROP WEDGE
ABEC 11 RETRO BIGZIGS 75MM 80A LIME GREEN
TRACKER FASTRACK 180MM
BONES CERAMICS

I'm about 5,11 and weigh about 85kg if this makes a diferance to what i should choose im not sure?
If i whent with this is there any particular wedges or risers that are needed???

Buy Kristian's board - it's a damn good setup and you'll save yourself a bunch of money.
i strongly recommend you buy my board

if not, i dont have any experience with the drop wedge so cant really help you.. seems pretty nice tho
Ha Kristian, what timing! But Dave, seriously, Kristian's board is set up really nicely with everything you need and you'll never outgrow it.
I will look into it
It will save some doe for sure and possibly put it into the budget that the misses thinks i was going to spend
Where are you located?
wollongong
More timming perhaps
Im in Wollongong next Thursday and Friday for Work
im at school from 12 till 5... any time before or after that would be good
all those past discussions you've looked at all lead to the same conclusion. in the beginning it doesn't matter what you get, you'll adapt to any set-up when learning. so you'll be happy with what you get, which ever option you choose.
my only advice is, don't bother with ceramics. get some bones reds and if you look after them and keep em clean, they'll continue to be just as good as ceramics. and don't forget, playing around with different bushing set-ups is definitely worth it.
Yer man Kristian's board looks sweet especially once you do get confidence up it's basically already for the next level well before racing in world cups i guess. But yer the drop wedge is in my display pick and that was my first board i that i would classifies as a dh board. but yer still i never went faster then 65 on it before i got my Glyde. I would say it would be a good starter dh board for sure and the wedged nose makes it have slight more turn in the front so would be good for a hard fast carving board, the down sized for that board aswell is even though you have the money to get that deck it was still alot cheaper a while back. That is why i reckon Kristian's board is the go!!!!
