anything can be used for commuting, but because its dropped you may have a hard time getting over stuff.
a dropped board is perfect for long distance commuting stuff cos it makes kicking a breeze, however being as heavy as it is its a pain in the ass around the city. i used my Evo for riding to and from work (good 10ks each way) everyday for about a year until i got the dervish. i didn't have any problems with it then cos i knew no different, but now that i use the Dervish for commuting everywhere, i couldn't imagine how I ever managed with the Evo.
the omni is pretty good for commuting its low so kicking is effortless, but its also more flexable then alot of dh bored so u will find it softer to ride, bad side is u will scrape the bottom on shit cause its so low
I agree with Leigh. Lowered deck is nice for a long distance push commute. However if you have to pick your board up a lot, it can become a chore on a heavier lowered deck.
I commute on my dervish, makes commuting a lot of fun, especially if there are some nice hills on the way or on the detour.
Omni drop 43 can be used for commuting. If it scrapes too much, buy bigger wheels :-)
Hi Hop,
As you know I bought a omni drop 43 in june off you guys. I use it mostly for bombing but found that this board is a great carving board as well. I think that commuting on this board would not be a chore as such. I find the board not to be that heavy, and if you recall the set up on the board is randal 180s and 75 purple orangatangs. So Jake I find this board to be a great all rounder, so I hope this is some help to you.

Regards

Ross
