Permalink Reply by Joe on August 20, 2009 at 20:58 is it on the anterior, medial or posterior compartment of the leg. you can give it a go and try and localise which nerve. femoral - ant, obturator for adductors and small sciatic nerves (L4-S3) for posterior compartment. Most likely you've damaged the lateral cutaneous femoris - but usually it's not too big a dealio; unlike the central nervous system the PNS can regenerate neurons through axonal growth and rewiring via a process of Wallerian degeneration (the myelinating Schwann cells are dynamite with providing enough neurotrophic factors)
