None of my wheels spin for very long

None of my wheels spin for more than 10 seconds... Yesterday it was 1 wheel, then it was the 2nd and now it's all my wheels.

 

PLEASE HELP!

Could you give details such as:
What wheels?

What bearings?

Do you have spacers?

How tight are your nuts?

 

It doesn't make too much differance really...

sounds like you need to buy some ceramic bearings, some aeras and some precision spacers or your entire skateboard will explode

sounds like some metal casing abec 5's thatve been riden in puddle a lot and not much cleaning... bit like my bearings haha

Sounds like thats what happens to bearings when u use them.
Maybe you should stop skating, and hang the board on the wall. That way your wheels will spin forever!

take your bearings out and clean them in petrol!

just take off any rubber shields if you are gonna do that with petrol though, or else they will blister and die... it's better off using acetone after popping out the shields with a pin, a litre from bunnings cost me 10 bucks i think from the paint department. silverfish has shitloads of threads on how to clean bearings if you google it, just remember to lube them afterwards using sewing machine oil or bearing lube

warm soapy water then some oil is the go ;) not as corrosive

Freespin of a bearing is meaningless, it behaves completely differently under load, eg when you're actually riding the board. If you don't notice it going slower, chances are your bearings are fine. Good idea to clean them every so often.
