I'm after a board that can handle the speeds and be able to take sliding and just general freeriding. just want to know what your preference is.

Easily the 925, if you want hte evo just look at the market place, theres a tonne of them for sale.
Righto, thanks mate.
personally man, i love my evo, i reckon its just about the best all round board you can think of, the pockets are really deep and nice. you will need a weird base plate setup for it, i use a 50degree plate positive wedged 7 degrees for the back and a 35 degree plate front, you could easily go for a 60degree randal on the back, but i tend to spin the wedge riser around for DH

I beg to differ, the evo is no freeride board, run risk of bottoming out, unsymetrical for the 180 slides, heavy, fked shape. My bro has the evo and hates getting off every time he needs to go from road to walkway.
925 on the otehr hand is great for all round, tighten your trucks for high speed downhills, or leave them loose with high rebound bushings for sliding and freeriding. very versetile board, i have the vendetta which is pretty much the exact same but i think its lighter due to bamboo construction
it depends on what you call freeriding, when i say freeriding i mean more checkslides into turns, getting into switch around turns etc big predrifts all that, as opposed to doing 360's etc. You do need to put on different plates, as i said, i have to wedge the rear truck even with a 50 degree plate, but i can leave my board set up with just about any wheels on it and a 92a barral bottom and 75a cone top and run it for everything, the shape locks my feet in nice and its stupid stiff and stable for DH, i dont touch my trucks between DH and freeriding, i dont even really change my wheels on that setup as i can bust out my big zigs quite well and still grip turns, i wouldnt change it for the world as a setup, i know exactly how its going to ride and that i can point it just about anywhere and it will be able to go there and do what i want

yea man the 925 definitely your better option if your keen to do some freeriding. I have an evo and don't get me wrong its an awsome board for bombing hills, super stable and fine for simple slides to control your speed. but If your looking to do freeriding its just impractical, its extremely fiddly to ride backwards if your doing 180 slides, has no nose and tail so if you want to do manuals or shove-its you can forget about it, and if your going over humps and down curbs it will often bottom out.

A friend of mine had a 925 and its an awesome all round board he has no trouble keeping up with me bombing hills when I'm on my evo and its perfect for all kinds for freeriding and carving.
pretty much the bottom line is
evo is a DH freeride board
the 925 is a freeride board that is stiff and good for DH
evo is sic i love mine its the best
