I'm looking for a board to use for speed. From trying various boards, I know that I want something a bit lower than average - but not super low. Both the Ibach and Switchblade seem to be good choices, but I'm not completely sure.

My biggest worry is the concave of the Ibach. I have very small feet, only 10" heel to toe, and I'm worried that I wont get the full effect of the concave. Being very locked into the board is something I really need.

I've never really looked at the measurements of concaves, so I don't know how much a 5/8" concave really is.

Bustin Ibach (NOTE: I would probably get the 10-ply version rather than the 9-ply):

What other more well-known boards have similar concave?

What are the obvious pros and cons of these two boards?

What similar boards are on the market?

What would YOU rather race on?

Thanks,

Fish

if you have smaller feet and looking for a similar board, have a look at the Rayne Isis. Rayne have recently discontinued it but I think a few online shops may have some left.

other similar boards:

Rayne nemesis

Jati Jiro

DADDOW PRAXIS

and also the switchblade concave feels f'd up

havent heard of any reviews for the bustin ibach cause they're quite new on the market. but they look pretty sick though

rayne nemesis would go down well for you. keep in mind that dropped board are less durable and will have a less responsive turn. also if you want a board thats "not super low" then definately dont go for the switchblade (which has crappy concave anyway). other than that take a look at these i can highly recommend them!
I've looked into the Rayne boards but they're just a little too high over my price range. I'm trying to keep my costs under $350 incl. postage. Same with Daddow - a great Aussie company that's just a little too expensive.
try stokedskateboards. i think you can get a rayne complete $320 shipped
dont get a switchblade or ibach for speed. the evo has no flex watsoever has  a lower platform (im pretty sure)  and is made purely for downhill and not freeride unlike the switchblade. i have one. never had a wobble, i  feel stable and comfortable and it turns relatively well according to its size aswell. and the concave is also good and locks you in, the only disadvantage is its not symmetrical u t that shouldnt matter if you are using t for DH
I said similar board suggestions because I want something symmetrical. I would like to do some freeride too. I've ridden an Evo and yes they're great boards but in technical downhill they drift out too much for my liking. And sit ridiculously low to the ground.

daddow praxis! its worth the money!!!!
Well Fish, seeing as you got the Switchblade I suppose this is answered. But, I do agree with THE CHAD and Will, it's concave is really messy and doesn't lock me in AT ALL. I have to hang my heel to slide. Anyway, thats my 2 cents.

Mmmm yeah the Switchblades concave takes a bit of getting used to, but it works great for people with small feet, despite the wider deck. People with bigger feet will have trouble getting locked in, but I find it's like the opposite to the 9two5 in that, on the 9two5, you're given gas pedals in the expectation that you'll hang your heel/toes off the edge, while on the switchblade theres very sharp rails, but the pockets can lock your feet in enough that you dont need to hang your heel off or anything.

US size 10 guys shoes or smaller, switchblade is awesome. Bigger and it sucks.

Well my Ibach feels great for DH and as you know I own a fair few boards. What about a 120-Y? Praxis?

Cody you're an idiot. You do realize this thread originated pre-switchblade purchase when I was still deciding which board to get?

And next board I get will probably be a Fat Pidgeon compact topmount

Ah shit I just saw it on the front page xD Didn't read dates.
