Buttboards cant be more then 12" wide, but if you have a 1 1/2 concave the surface measurement would be aprox 13 1/4.
But edge to edge with a ruler is still 12"
Any thoughts before i start cutting
Cheers

i would say that would be allowed, the igsa would be looking for a ruler measurement. Just pray they dont have a bendy one or everyone will be fked :P
you can always trim it down later

email IGSA for a ruling but i think you should be ok.

If you set up two bariers 12 inches apart and the board rolls through it it must be less than 12 inches wide
Surface lenght is a diferant measurment and they have not made any restrictions on that.
measure a sparks board, his boards are allowed in IGSA sanctioned races, so if you go from his it should be fine, but like Dave said, email the IGSA and double check, no point in being wrong from the get go ;)

PEACE!
I have heard stories of Sakamoto making people cut down SBB at BTB for being too wide.
12 " wide OVERALL ! I was the one cuting boards at BTB and it was just the angled edge , ADO lent me a plain and all sorted !! I have also seen buttboards knocked back for 1 mm too low (deck hieght) at newtons from Marcus
Buttboard is a standardised event so EVERYONE is equal
Classic Luge/Buttboard specs are: Maximum length of 48 inches. Maximum width, ie, edge to edge regardless of the amount of concave is 12 inches. ( just get a straight edge with a 12 inch increment and if your deck is narrower, you're sweet ) Height is a minimum of 80mm ie, ANY part of the deck must be no lower than 80mm when placed on a flat surface. It maybe higher, but certainly not lower.(80 mm is 3 1/8th inches)
Weight is 6.5 kgs, with a .5 hg tolerance for scale adjustment.
Owen was right, I did make some riders plane down their Sparks Classics, as some of them were between 3 and 10mm wider than the maximum width allowed. The specs are there to keep the integrity of the class, a certain equality for all riders.
Cheers,
Andy
Thanks for the feedback guys, i did email Bob Ozman IGSA but as yet he has'nt got back to me. As the old saying go's Measure twice cut once.

Cheers

Mark
Been thru Tech a couple of times and they only measure straight across.
Yeah, that'd be me but I was glad Andy picked it up. Didn't want to go to Bathurst just to be knocked back. I simply never checked it before hand
