ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Hi,
At the moment, I'm using ABEC11 Gumballs-78a durometer. They slide pretty easily, but I was thinking about getting some freeride wheels, to see if they slide even better.

So I was wondering which freeride wheels are good. How do the Otangs compare with the ABEC11 freerides. Also, will the freeride wheels slide more easily than my gumballs?

I'm using them on Randals on a Hellcat 09 deck. I mainly use my board for carparks, freeride and easy downhill.

Thanks.

blue kryptos, yellow retros
i personally feel that the retro arent as good as the otang they are harder to break out
the retro's dont wear any near as fast as the otang thane does, but once you manage to wear a few mm's off them, they are pretty sweet!

it seems that the wheels that shed more thane when sliding, are the ones that are easier to break out and slide smoother than the ones that don't wear as fast. i don't know why. its almost like on the tangs your sliding on the thane your actually shedding. which doesn't bother me, cos the performance of them is amazing.
Kryptos are those thin ones that Matty has right? That dude seems to be able to shed some awesome slides on the yellow retros, but he's probably way better than me. I'm going freeride hunting on Friday after school, I'll tell you if I find some cool spots. I want to get better at speed check too, I can't push them back straight again, I just slide it out and bit then turn back in. Anyway, cya l8a.
another thing to help freerideing is a lowered deck and some loose trucks will make it easier to check slide,
