i'll second that; freebords are for kooks, fact! i've owned one and a longboard is better on every level. also i'm very skeptical when people claim speeds of up to 80ks or whatever, to go fast you need to be balancing just on the castor wheels, 2 rollerblade wheels, it's like riding a ripstik downhill.

 

longboards are faster, safer, more fun, slide better etc... nothing like snowboarding either.

Freebords are just a more versatile ride because they're more controlled in all aspects, they're safer, you can stop quicker, negotiate heavier traffic, you can ride in and out of switch at speed, do spins, you can obviously slide better, without burning off all your speed, and you can draw lines, and do runs that are impossible on a longboard like narrow winding footpaths, 20%ers that end with T-intersections, gaps and parks, you can snowboard on a freebord,

and you can still ride all your other boards too.

 

Longboards are just more suited to going faster straight down a hill, handsliding, carving, getting around town on, practicing walking and noserides on, and apparently for being an arrogant closed-minded prick on, as well.
