Falls Creek to Omeo road --- one to look out for in 2011
Here are some pics of the new road works from Falls Creek to Omeo.

RockValley Reservoir, from about 4Ks along the Omeo Rd
Near Cope Hut, which is 400metres from road, to the left of the cars and has (Long Drop) facilities. Important because it is a National Park, which usually means take out everything you bring in. Good downhill with uphill run-off, which should be ok for head-to-head racing. Gradient like the Essendon airport track.
The road should be mostly sealed through to the Anglers Rest before the snow sets in. The final top coat won't be applied til spring 2011, so it will be new blacktop with loose gravel on it until then.
Leathers will be mandatory, not for the gravel rash.....for the cold! At Mt Beauty it was 36, at Rocky Valley it was 16, with a wind that went right through ya!. The road will be heavilly promoted for motorcycle touring in summer, so it will be busy at times.
As part of their summer resort promotions Falls now has a Skate Ramp.......http://www.fallscreek.com.au/SkateRamp
And some pretty impressive streets which could be used for a bit of sliding, and these two big sealed areas, that I absolutely no idea as to what else they could be used for other than parking cars!

Is the Falls Creek Comp happening this year before Newtons.

Not sure yet. We still need to get down there to meet with them. Has been difficult to tee up a meeting.
I would definitely like to see a Falls Creek Comp go off before Newtons. Would be a rad two weeks of skating.
