'Person shall not drive/ride/permit driving or riding a vehicle or beast on the mall'

A beast...WTF no more bull riding in the mall. I thought bull riding in QLD was every mans god given right

they're really running with this skateboard is a vehicle thing in QLD.
so in QLD is a skateboard a vehicle or wheeled recreational toy/device? if its the latter you can tell em to go suck eggs, then get on your bull and fucken rampage that thing through the mall
If you have the time and energy you should take this one to court. A Loaded Dancer is a bit of a beast but it's not a vehicle.
dude thats suck ass..vegas cops are fags man and if we do the 50+ ridders id bet they'd try to get us all and make some extra cash in this rough finacial crisis...we should ride our beast's through there,,see what make and model they'd call it..
the queensland police approach since mr matt ryans infamous run at maleny is that they can at their discretion class a skateboard as vehicle not a wheeled toy, before ryans episode they really did not know what to do with us at the worst you would get a forty dollar fine usually they'd just shake their heads at you and tell you to go home...... thanks matt
Correct me if I'm wrong it may be different in QLD but police discretion in NSW is relevant only in determining when and if to apply the law it on the basis of upholding the peace before applying the law (eg not arresting a protester whom is breaking the law as that could create a riot), however this does not extend to an officers ability to change the law by calling a dog a cat. I'd say you could take that ticket to court on the grounds that he has given you the wrong ticket and therefore a misapplication of the law. The Matt Ryan case should hold no precedent as it was issued by a Magistrate and not a Judge (who is able to create precedent).
Yeah Guys! I'm really excited about going to court for this. We'll get a whole gang and make a HUGE deal out of it. I said to the guy, "mate it is illegal to skate EVERYWHERE". I'll make a full crusade on how this country is full of fuckin laws and no FREEDOMM! FREEEEDDOOMMM!!
hahaha. Yeah it'll be hard saying my board isn't a beast :)

make sure you ride into court on the back of a guerrilla screaming and yelling... that should definitely satisfy the criteria of 'beast'
dude best of luck in court, but queen street mall has signs up everywhere no push bike skateboards rollerblades etc etc, reckon your just gonna have to take it on the chin, as for this vehicle thing while i do not fully understand it they use the fairly new anti hoon (dickhead drivers) legislation, the way the legislation is written allows them to class anything they dont like, registered or not registered powered or not, as a vehicle yet again at their discretion, what was matts undoing that moved him from wheeled toy to vehicle was blatantly breaking road rules by crossing double yellow lines and his obvious lack of control.
It wasn't a policeperson that gave this to you was it - it was a council officer(parking cop) - is that right? It wasn't on the road so the vehicle/wheeled rec device doen't apply. I would think. It sucks but it is the mall and like PH said it is well signed and a public place. I would just pay it.
shoulda just bailed before he gave you a ticket... your on a skateboard he was on foot... the way it should be is:

IF THEY CAN CATCH YOU THEY CAN FINE YOU
