Event Description

The 2012 Yarra Ranges Downhill Festival is Victoria's first legal, closed road slalom/downhill race event. It's been a long time coming but will be a chance for us to show the locals that downhill skaters are not 'playing russian roulette with cars' (thanks Tracy) and are above all, awesome to watch.

Schedule

Downhill Racing, Slalom, Music, Barbecue all in one jam packed day of fun. If you call yourself a long boarder and live in Melbourne, you better be there.

What does it cost?

  • $55 for downhill
  • $15 for slalom and $5 for the Penny riders
  • All riders receive free raffle tickets!

Registration

Open Registration will begin on Thurs, November 11th at 7pm (AEST). Payment is made via Paypal at time of registration. Once rego is paid there will be no refunds for any reason, you use it or you lose it.

Please download the Full Event Waiver - You must return this form signed on the day

I will edit the event as I go but The downhill road is approx 1km...racers maxing at 85km at finish line....slalom is same rd but coming opposite direction same finish area. Finish area has a park where crowds can watch the racing and enjoy the council run festival with food ,drink, merch tents and tunes.

Downhill format to be advised...slalom will be dual lane timed.

Hi Braden. Sounds cool. Do you have more details? What's the road(s) like? How long, and how steep? What sort of speed for the downhill? What sort of race formats for downhill and slalom?
