fair call guff, everyone has a choice, but at legit events,i believe the precautions are there...ambos,haybales etc.probably why sanctioned/safer events draw more riders.
as with outlaws, were lucky the pumpstation and a few of the other hills dont need hay.....as far as first aid,ive had my first aiders for 12 years and im sure many others have to...ive put it to use in saving lives a few times...but not one skate related yet....if someone gets hurt, were all there to help best we can.

who is going to push themselves with no hay bales no qualified first aiders etc etc sorry but racing should be done in a controlled environment no offence kam but if i had a serious head injury who the fuck is gonna help me at one of your outlaws. Part of the reason i have backed off. If the sport is to be taken serious there needs to be an element of care provided at all levels.

yes, definately stepping stone approach....kam,you forget the amount of time we've spent making a point of dialling certain things, who else has?not many,..you can stay in your comfort zone and progress slowly or you can get yourself to the nessesary terrain and dial it quiker.....what you put in you get back out, theres no shortcuts..........kam and myself arent out to be world champs, shit gets boring and the only way to keep it exciting is to step it up a bit,....its all fun with us,.and the challenge of it excites!.....in saying that, the best guy on the hill is the one havin the most fun!,,,,,as long as your stoked.
but this is Australian Skateboard RACING Association,if you dont like racing, wtf are you doin here......
sorry for the piss talk......nothin like a few sat arv beers and an asra fix....yew

Cam- You should have at least 5 more riders from south coast for your events regularly brother. Just like Trav said, pumpys our first race, but we're keen and commited for more gnar yeewwww! I know 5's only a tiny number, but it only takes a minority to motivate a majority! Like trav said, stepping stones are the key.

half the names on the list have been downhilling for less than 6 months, probably even more than half. people need a stepping stone before taking on a 'gnar' hill let alone racing down one. thats way Pump Station and Noosa have so many entrants.

More importantly most people skate to have fun, not to be 'gnar'. Some of us aren't setting out to be world champions, just enjoying the ride.

Risk vs Stoke for me.
I'm not ready to risk serious injury (done enough of that during my time) with my skill level, for what amount of stoke I'd get out of it.
I'm happy to just ride a safer hill.

Who was whinging for more races anyway?
Comment by Kam Kite on November 6, 2010 at 12:22
I cant believe how many names crawled from the wood work??????? KV we had like 20 riders. Gnarlston Gouge 25. Sydney City Cannon ball run ONLY 17

Everyone is winging for more races BUT as soon as the GNAR factor is Raised no one is to be seen?

I'm trying to work out a system to include people beyond the 48 mark, people on the reserve list come prepared to race!

more than likely it will be based on round robin between groups of 16 skaters, then the top racers from each group to go into a final. everyone should get at least 4 races each.
Depending on how quick we get through them, there may be more rounds + open finals & over 40 finals.

full schedule will be out early next week.
