Proposed Constitutional Amendment

The current ASRA board proposes to amend the Constitution to allow for seven board members, instead of the current five.  This will be done by adding a treasurer and one committee member.  The amendments will be voted on as a single issue.

The proposed amendments are as follows:

1. Schedule 14(1)(b): delete and replace "2 ordinary members" with "3 ordinary members";

2. Schedule 14(2): amend to read as follows

"The office-bearers of the association are to be:

a) the president,

b) the vice-president,

c) the secretary, and

d) the treasurer"

3. Delete Schedule 16(4) and add a new Schedule 17 for the Treasurer to read as follows:

"The treasure must ensure:

a) that all money due to the association is collected and received and that all payments authorised by the association are made, and

b) that correct books and accounts are kept showing the financial affairs of the association, including full details of all receipts and expenditure connected with the activities of the association."

Nominations

Nominations for all board positions have been received and they are therefore elected unopposed.  As such, there will be no voting at the AGM.

ASRA needs people to:

  • manage the website,
  • maintain the rankings data base,
  • track the finances and membership subscriptions,
  • buy the insurance,
  • co-ordination of events,
  • keeping the rules up to date,
  • looking after the timing systems, equipment, and banners,
  • fronting media promotions,
  • talking to Federal, State and Local authorities,
  • and
  • representing You...the Australian Skateboard Racer!

Most of these tasks require just a few minutes each week, and some require an hour or so each month.
None of it is that hard, and you will gain some very useful experience!

I like to organize freeride and race events, run spreadsheets for series points and bring communities together.

I like to skate and luge

I plan on increasing the number of legal freerides on closed roads to facilitate the growth of new skaters wile continuing to hold an outlaw series

I am a fulltime student/researcher at UQ and am looking to go into highschool teaching at the end of the year, there is always time for skateboarding.

My name is Logan Churchill, I live in and shred Sydney everyday. I have a hospitality degree and about to start an events degree which I intend to use to help develop the Sydney skate scene with more organised events and just spread the stoke.

The reason I want to be on the ASRA board is to not only contribute but help keep alive the Australian Racing Community.

I work a full time job however always have time to skate and therefore defiantly can find time to help out on the website.

Peace.
