Event Description

Cross country push and expression session to raise money for sick kids.

$10 entry donation will go to Camp Quality.

Helmet and gloves required. Pads are a good idea too.

Riders will have to agree to stick to the paths when walking up the hill. Riders will also be riding at own risk, and will agree to ride according to the stop/go control of the officials.

SPONSORS:

ADO from Cre8ive Sk8 is sending some prizes!

Good one Ado,... great cause!

Sean from Daily Grind has also come on-board with some product to give away as prizes. Rock on!!

EXTREME BOARDRIDERS

A company that has been selling longboards for years down at Glenelg has also come to the party. Good one guys!

They have some $25 dollar vouchers up for grabs for the top riders on the day.

NEWS ABOUT BHC

The Mitcham Council are thinking of putting a dam at this site. Its a public recreational reserve, (that the residents have worked on making paths and a beautiful picnic area by the creek.)

The dam will require all of the residents houses to be a compulsory aquire by the council.

Needless to say the residents arent happy about the idea of this. One that I spoke to said the elected council official that got in apparently had a "No Dam" campaign, and NOW they seem to be going ahead and stonewalling the residents.

We will lose this spot in the future if it happens. (but that is not as much consequence as the residents face) its a 40 zone with no lines marked, so its supposed to be a "legal"spot.

Also it doesnt connect to any main roads at the top.

Vilis Pies are going to help feed you. We are working on a deal where you can buy a pie or pasty on the day and part proceeds will also go to Camp Quality. Ill keep you all posted on how that goes.

...Or should I say about the CQ kids. They are invited,... it was one of the things I asked Camp Quality admin Dani. If they are interested they will come. They should be aware of it through their own facebook network.

It would be great to introduce some to the sport, so Im hoping we have some on the day. Even if they dont skate Im sure theyll enjoy the get together.

@ Davin. Thanks for the offer bro. I think Ive got the radios sorted. My dad has some, and I have some so that should do it. Of course if anyone else brings them, it will be even better. Good communication makes it safe for everyone.

ALSO,... bring your cameras, and donate the footage. I will have a laptop there on the day for everyone to download their memory cards to. Please come, and film, and leave me with some footage to edit together. We are putting on a positive event here, and it could help to push a more positive image of our sport in the publics eye, as well as giving us a platform to negotiate bigger and better events.

Theres every possibility we may have a few. Our event is promoted also through Camp Quality. If any of the kids want, they can come.

Hamish, we will have begginners class if thats what you are. You dont have to do the last hill if you arent comfortable. Its easier to run if you all just mix it up, (from my perspective) but if you are worried about getting eliminated by someone like Leigh,... its not that kind of format.

Besides, news is our buddy Leigh might be out of shape this Sunday morning.

If hes not Ill kick him in the leg so it will be easier for you guys to beat him.

Why not get some camp quality kids there and show em a good thing (ie. Longboarding). Would be a cool thing for them and you guys. Coach some cancer kids!

Hey Matty, hope you've been keeping well?  You still after two ways? i've got some i can send down to you thru my work overnight and should be delivered to you on Friday.  It's just the 2 and charger base.  Call me on 0402177723 tomorrow and let me know.  Keep them down there with you as i can always order more thru work and being the organising king that you are, i'm sure you'll need them.
