Hey Toby - had a quick look around and fond these guys http://www.foamex.com.au/home are in SA (Adeleaide I suspect) - make sure you go for EXTRUDED not Expanded Polystyrene foam. I haven't tried a Dimm press myself - seems like twice the work compared to vacuum bagging and prone to perhaps less consistent pressures across the pressing... Deeks

Toby, Why not try bamboo veneer? We supply directly from China.
It is cost effectively and bamboo decks are stronger than wood.

try a rail press - they're cheap to make (about $35 o $40) - easies way to get a concave with cheap ply... Let me know if you want some more details.
