Okay,
So me and my friends have this run on my street, and there is one like tiny corner. 2 days ago, the guy that lives on the corner (around 20 years old), comes up to us and has a talk to us. He says that he wants us to have a spotter on the corner (was suprised he knew that) and that he didnt want to have the issue of hitting one of us with his car on his hands. We all accepted that and said we will in the future.

The start of this run is also a favourite of mine for freeride. I was out today with a friend, and not even going like 10 kilometres an our on our way home. He pulls me up and asks where my spotter is?

I said that we where just on our way home and we didnt need one cause we where not even going fast and could see all the streets that came into this one.

He said that if he saw us without a spotter one more time he was going to call the cops.

My question is, what is the worst the cops could do to us? Fine or like what?

And would they like regurely patroll our spot.. cause yer if it comes to that ill make sure we have a spotter everytime we go there just so we can skate.

Cheers

just too add he was worried in the first place about us getting hit because he lives on the part of the run which is a big left hand corner which you are hitting around 50km/h on

Why are you even thinking about options, that will only piss your neighbour off, to the point where he calls the cops?

It seems that he is reasonable, and certainly does not want to see you being hurt.

If on the other hand you are having trouble getting a spotter, you could (politely) let him know that, and ask him if a "Skaters on Road" flag or sign on his corner might help, so that at least he knows that you are having a session.  If that does not work, then you should take his advice and get a spotter.

You're lucky bro. aha
Most annoying residents are the bitchy old type where they are like "fuck off or i'm calling the cops you are idiots"
Atleast your dude is just saying have a spotter.

Personally I just wouldn't skate it without a spotter unless you are always in your lane.
Cop wise, if they follow the book (which most don't) you just have to follow road rules and it can't have a dividing line.
So as long as you aren't going through stop signs/give way signs/going on the right hand side/on a lined road, technically you would be all good.

However some cops could be assholes about it and pull the old "you can't skate on the road" because they don't know legislation.

I would just hit it with a spotter or make excuses "oh i was just skating down here to spot for my friend, he's up the top"
Or if you want to risk it, just tell him you're fine with him calling the police and make sure you follow road rules.

Had one stupid btich the other day tell me to get off her street or she would call the police. When we asked what the police could kick us off for, she told us we were graffitiing and other skaters had done it before and been arrested. After we blank stared her not sure if she was being serious, she pointed at the thane lines on the road.

Yer,

We can all stick in our lane and manage to stop at that speed.

Ill just make sure we hit with spotters.

jack, is that watson? just reply with "your a pedophile, go ahead, call the cops but you have plenty of pictures of us and you have them in your possession without our consent." i said pretty much that and she just walked back inside.
cops dont do shit.. people are just always pissy and come up with he dumbest reasons to fight you. ive had some lady say we cant downhill because it upsets her dog (it was an indoor dog) so she called the cops and they were like eh we dont care just dont get hit by a car and always wear a helmet. simple just say to the guy fine call the cops but you'll just be wasting their time

be careful with that though.. we did the same thing and waited for the cops to turn up.. then when they did, they didnt even give us a chance to tell them that what we were doing wasnt illegal.. i offered to show them my set of road rules and they just said "no i dont care, your not allowed to skate on the road!"

but other times we have had cops that told us it was fine, and then came back 5 minutes later and gave us maccas vouchers!

so sometimes its good, sometimes its bad, depends if the cops arent fuckheads or not. also ive noticed, the more experienced the cop, the better they are. the new guys dont know anything about the skating rules and just want to shit stir with some teenagers. so if there badge says "constable" be more careful. but "senior constable" is much better :D

hey jordan is that the little old ladies son???? The one that came out the day  i stacked it?

Na another one.
