so i was thinking about buying a dervish or tan tien, im already buying as i already have two dh boards ( so please dont try and convince me otherwise) and they look like a good commuter. could a 60 kg person pump properly on a dervish or tan tien flex 1? and what wood be the quickest you could take it, because there is a hill were iv hit around 45 on and i was wondering if it could withstand that

Deck flex doesn't help with pumping. Most slalom boards (which are designed for pumping) are very stiff.

As for top speed, either of those boards handle fine at 45km/h.

well then what helps with pumping???
Most LDP'ers have some flex right? I assume its the kind of pumping you'd be doing?
Technique and correct bushings and wedging will help with pumping, it isn't something you can buy off a shelf. Trust me my slalom setup cost a fortune and I get flogged at races haha

i have a tan tien flex one. Im really liking it for LDP because with feet at both ends its comfy with a little bit of flex but not heaps (im 60kg). Personnaly i would recoomend the tan tien over the dervish because the dervish is way too flexy and I find the nose/tail inst very good at all. From my experience the tan tien is better for everything.

Th concave on a tan tien is very comfy because its not real big so comfortable for a long period of time but u still notice its there (unlike dervish were it feels like there no concave)

I reckon you would be pushing it taking it over 40km/h even though it good be done with a good bushing set up and skill. But that doesnt bother me i would just carve/speed check down the hill, i have other boards for going fast.
if you want to know anything else cause ive ridden both baords quite a bit just send me an email.

I reckon a tan tien would be a little short for pumping much more than a short distance. They feel a little cramped to me. If the only two options are tan tien or dervish, I would choose the dervish
I've been working on pumping a dervish for a while and am kinda there but really have to work it.  Just tonight tried a board setup as slalom (stiff board, super divey front truck, almost no turn at the rear) and was pumping uphill in 2 min. So quick and carvy it really opened a new horizon in skating for me, amazing commuter for sure.  But you seem set on a dervish/tantien so I'd seriously consider trading in my dervish if you want it...
