ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

OK, it isn't quite live yet, but the ASRA crew plus other volunteers have arrived, and we're busy setting up here at the Scout Camp. Tomorrow we'll be busy with last minute stuff, plus rider check-in which starts at midday.

It's wet, and the forecast is for the rain to continue until Thursday night. After that it should be mostly clear.

There's a lot of wildlife here - possums, deer, bush turkeys, lyrebirds and the most common of all - leeches. This place is seriously crawling with leeches - salt is supposedly the thing to ward them away.

A friendly leech outside our front door

See you all tomorrow at rider check-in.

Lea Robbo popped her shoulder out in the first practice run...but popped it back in again and kept riding. I think the ambulance heard there was an injury and went driving down the road looking for her, but she was gone.

Yeeeah bugs this is sick for the people that can't make it to keira! thanks so much

Will Morphett arrives late and misses practice...the reason? He had to "deal with Leigh G", who was very hungover after the party last night. There's a swimming pool at the scout camp, complete with a nice springy diving board, which Haggy, Striker and a few others jumped off.

Unreal job bugs!
Eyes all over the world are watching your great work. Best of luck to all the riders today! Stay safe.

Practice is now over, and racing is to begin.

Alex Martin is a late scratching...he has his arm in a sling...not a diving board accident apparently.

Amy London crashes and bangs her knee. She's up and about but has to go to hospital to get it checked out. Not sure if she'll be racing again today.

Leigh is hungover?,... that'll be a first hahahaaa

Good luck to Will. He's a great skater

Racers on the line for the first heat. Finals day is about to begin for real. The first heat is:

Alex Tongue
Curtis Onchi
Matthew Rae
Mikael "kula" Jensen

Alex Tongue is the number one seed, while Mikael snuck into the finals via the repechage.

And they're off!

Good luck to all the West Aus crew. Just saw that 6 out of the 16 races in round 1 has a West Aussie representing. Well done fellas

Mikael makes it from the repechage into the top 32. Alex Tongue also through.
