I feel like I am being annoying, but surely there are some people on the surf coast who skate pretty regularly. I have been skating a bit at Spring Valley Rd near Torquay, but I am getting pretty bored of it. I want to hit some decent hills but don't have anyone to go with. WHERE ARE ALL THE OTHER SKATERS?

Sorry for putting this in 'Gear' not sure how that happened.

I am from geelong, and often go down the coast to skate. I have been out of action for a few weeks because I broke my jaw.
Should be back skating in a week or so and would be keen to roll

Yeah sick, well not about your jaw. Did you do that skating? Give me a buzz when you are planning on heading out next. 0417086950. Cheers.

yeah did it skating, going to the docs tomorrow and will find out when i can skate again.
Where abouts would you want to skate?

That would hurt a lot. Umm I don't care really. I have got a car so I am happy to drive a bit to go somewhere good. Keen to do a bit of downhill, getting a bit sick of sliding cos I'm not getting any better haha. Where are some good hills? I don't want to skate anything too gnarly, as long as I don't have to pre-drift corners it should be sweet.

Yeah I can also drive. What kinds of speeds are you comfortable at? I dont skate dh too often because the area I live in is a lot better for freeride. To skate good dh roads it is a bit more of a trek

this run is down near apollo bay and probably the best that we have discovered that is fairly close as yet

Umm, probably comfortable at about 70-80k as long as the corners don't need pre-drifting. I have skate Willunga Hill and Bains Rd near Adelaide but only a couple of times. Bains, it's not actually this long http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e68p3fUKjtk&feature=youtube_gdat... Willunga Hill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1hNAA3fS8o&feature=youtube_gdat... I am happy to skate what ever really, keen to keep improving all areas. That hill looks so sick. How fast would you say it is? Last corner looks tight.

awesome. The hot spot at the moment seems to be down apollo bay. When im back skating I plan to go back there and skate with some other guys. The hill is about 70-75 dont need to slide or footbrake. corners are pretty cruisy

Yeah wicked, that sounds great. What were the doctors orders? What about around lorne, the roads that head up to where Falls is held, do you know if they are any good?

they stuffed up my appointment so I am still yet to see him. Yeah there are some fun little runs in lorne. Need to slide on most though. Havent checked out that hill yet. we are finding new hills evertime we go down that way

There is definately lots of exploring to be done down that way. I am fine with sliding, just haven't quite got it dialed when I am going real fast though. My toeside needs some serious work haha. Bugger about the doctor.

yeah so much exploring! also the alpine regions are very good and only a few hours drive. When im back skating you should come down to highton, where the main freeride spot is, its good for dialing slides
