ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

In this weeks Gold Coast Weekend Bulletin pretty much the whole of page 3 has been given over to balancing last weeks press coverage; and in my opinion it leaves down hill skateboarding with a very polished professional finish. So now we can put this to bed; one would think
For those not on the Goldy here it is:

Well done Jeremy! Those photos with Jaxon are gold - how can the punters resist a cute kid???
yeh that is awesome, jeremy setting the record straight, itll take alot more than a bit of bad press to tear the downhill community apart, especially with people like jeremy in the mix. doin aussie downhill proud...sic
hey guys everyone caught this right?
Superintendent Jim Keogh, of Gold Coast police, said while racing on the road was illegal, skaters could legally go down hills one at a time provided they did not cross the centre line and kept to the left.
haha we have been excepted!
good work to those who managed to straiten this out
Finally,
Rock Stars!

'otherwise we would end up with broken bones and bark off all over us.'

'Superintendent Jim Keogh, of Gold Coast police, said while racing on the road was illegal, skaters could legally go down hills one at a time provided they did not cross the centre line and kept to the left.'

What does bark off mean?

I wasnt aware of this law that Jimmy is talking about. When did this all happen?
Great article Jeremy and some kewl pics. Well done.
bark = skin... hes talkin about road rash.

Thats rad, if you ever get fined for downhill skateboarding again you can fight it and use that quote... coz apparently 'its legal'

If you ever have an outlaw race again and the coppers rock up just say your not racing, and you just wanted to gather all your mates for a free ride of a cool hill and your using all the safety precautions you can to make sure everyone gets down the hill in one piece... definitely not racing...
kinda opens up time trials all over the Goldy!!
Mad work jezz , well done , like i mentioned in a previous post this exposure could work to everyone's advantage......and it has !
roll on.. thanks for all your support after almost fucking it, i called our friend (She got the new story run for us all)who works for the bully and she was going to come down to do the story but she couldn't make it and in the end two different journo came out the second day girl Katrina Jones was a little devod as she was missing her friends sunday arvo session!! but the photog was liking the shots.Hence the quotes being a little lose didn't think to much then i got away Jackson and Ramon through steve and started cleaning up. Bed then a phone call from the oldies at 7.30am saying had i seen the paper and channel seven were on the door step wanting an interview.. Then Kev spoke to 9 and they wanted an interview and both wanted footage from the days so Jamie and leeso provided. In the end the whole thing was just not thought about i just wanted Ramon to be in a skate article in the gold coast newspaper. Thats the whole reason i asked. Let me tell you Jaxon is over the moon and to see him in action everyday is just priceless. Gab's going home skate session and a big Skate Australia finarly. Soon
Yes, thats exactly the sort of stuff the long board community needs.....
has any one thought about things like, what we are doing now, is what people did 40 years ago when surfing came to Australia, because my dad was one of the people on the for front of surfing and says they got the same kind of attention
