How to convince my mum.

See, my birthday is coming up soon. And I want to get a new board, because I'm just not really satisfied with my board. It's a Drifter. But I want to get the BC Moray. I love the board, it has everything I want with it. My Dad doesn't mind, but my Mum just gets angry at me. I said I'm willing to pay for a bit of it, but she just gets pissed. How can I convince her?

Man, the most expensive gift from my parents were the driving lessons so I could get my licence drive them to the airport when they went on holidays!

 

Stop complaining, tell them you want it for Christmas and shred your old gear until you are unable to ride it anymore.  For god sakes, I learnt down hill on a Z-flex!  Tuck and all.

Ya sister gets huge presents, she probably has a bigger bedroom than you, ya mum always seems to give her waaaay more attention than you, she always gets to sit in the front seat for the school drop off, and she never ever does anywhere near as many chores as you have to do.

 

Are you sure its really about the board?

Lay off everyone.

Stop telling him to buy it himself. The issue is that his parents don't want him to get this present. From the sounds of it they are happy to buy him an XBox or some shit but not a board.

 

Just ask for money. Say that you can't decide right now and that you think money would be best so you don't get something useless. Then after a month or so of you still wanting the board she will probs relent and let you get it. The big issue with my parents was that they thought i was buying spontaneously. After a year or so of longboarding my parents were much less annoyed when i bought more boards. Just convince her it won't be a waste.

He will be getting some new undies and one of those super rad skatey tshirts....from Kmart!
