I was on facebook and a friend said for driving lessons he got taken out here. He says it is ridiculously steep with hairpins and when he drove down he thought of me on my longboard.

Anyway.

Not sure how well it would work or if there is much traffic but steep hills and hairpins on mountains always hold an appeal for speed boarders :)

Out Woop Woop way.

But I know mates that skate around samford and its like a highway..

I might be talking about the wrong spot, but yer. Looks sick.

rad spot mang...skeet skeet
I'll ask him about traffic and shit. The google earth car didn;t see any other traffic for atleast 5k's and it was the middle of the days so presumably it would be allright.

Good news:
He only saw like 3 or 4 other cars and some motorbikes over the entire thing.

Bad News: apparently motorbikes sometimes race on it

Good part of the bad news: if motorbikes race that means there can't be too much police out that way which in a way is good =D

not a grom friendly spot guys skate at your own risk

Is it a fast hill Lance and Josh?

Have you skated it?

looks sweeet

From around here:
-27.4318, 152.8980
to here:
-27.4325, 152.9115
Is all downhill.

The markers may be a bit off. That's almost 2k's of continuous DH.

That is at the southern end approaching the gap. I haven't really looked at the northern end.
Start at the first marker and travel west and you should have a jolly good time.
From Google earth there are no hairpins but some of the corners are a bit blind.
If anyone has been/goes and trys it tell us how the hill is.
wow looks rad and gnarly
Jack,  This is not a friendly road at all.  Cycling groups hit this at first light in order to avoid the motorists on these hills.  People take these roads for the views they present and motorists quite often drift all over the road due to watching the views and not the roads.  Most sections of this road has on average a metre of shoulder width on the edge of the road then it just plummets away.  Go over some of those edges and you won't be coming back.  Also on weekend it's a favourite for motorcycle clubs and car clubs which then attracts the police at the bottom of the hills, especially between Samford and Mt Glorious/Mt Nebo.  If you are going to ride it, would definately recommend a rear spotter and probably a forward spotter.  Rough bitumen mixes in some sections of the road as well.  You'd be better off in the back hills of Dayboro as it's mostly locals only (half the traffic)

Oh ok thanks for that Davin

Good to know

I'll have a look at some dayboro hills.
Cheers.

Steep as hell, and there is always a pommy motorbike cop there, been patroling that area since Daddow and Arbi were skating it as young guys.  They have also put in some guard rails on the tight corners... better than going off a cliff, but will break you at 70 to 90 km/h. and there are, as said, some really rough spots, needs new road laid down.

The guy to ask about that area is Arbi.  There are some good spots.
