My knee pads were in a $60 set they were ok but now they are dead. The sides are shredded. Toeside slides getting too low and hitting the road.
I have seen Ash Donaldson and a few others with the mountain bike ones and I have priced the good quality 187 ones from ado. And looked at www.tbsm.com.au for the mountain bike ones???

What do you think????

What would be the best option?

I only have experience with the 187's, they're great, all the other pads i've seen are crap compared to these, saved me so much skin. Get a nice tight fit.
I had the same problem, I think mine are protec, the side of one gets shredded ad is almost destroyed!
how  much are 187s adam
120 ish
id get 187s thats what im gettin next unless something slightly used and cheap comes up
Ash d raves about his mountain bike ones.
I have mountain bike shin and knee pads and im also getting elbow and forearm guards, I reckon they're mad, they've saved me countless times from losing skin on shins/

i have copped a rail to my shin once befor that hurt like fuck and saw lances leg split open from evo rail (a photo),yeah they prob be safer one to get

In some cases, MTB pads are pretty good alternatives, especially for elbow gear.  However, if you're knee-sliding out or taking slams in the bowl, then skate gear's just going to be better:  you can recap the knees on skate pads and the elbow pads will take a bigger direct hit.

If you're shredding the sides of pads, I think it just means you need to either get pads that don't rotate on you, or better pads.  The high-end TSG, 187 and others are worth the high entry cost, later on, as they last a lot longer.
