Hey guys,
A few of my friends and i have been doing a few runs and i was thinking how cool it would be to know how fast we were going. Is there something out there that can tell you how fast you are going like a watch or something you attach to your board or put in your shoe? It might sound stupid but its worth a shot asking right?
Thanks Tim

We use Garmin personal GPS's
Apple Iphone with the App, GPS MOTION PLUS. You get average speed, Maximum speed, Elevation, gradient, total descent, etc. May not be as good as dedicated GPS unit but a good guide and many people have one in their pocket.

Hmm maybe it only works on matchbox sized skaters..
How about an infra red laptimer you can set them up over any distance 10 metres or 10 kilometres and then time your run, work out your speed if you want, and swap the timer to your mates board to compare runs. It would be great for running informal races on roads where more than one at a time is not practical.
I have ordered the one linked above for slalom practice as at $70- shipped it was the cheapest I could find. I'll report back how it works when I get it.

yeah those hot wheels don't work very good at all. ive tested one for a science practical in high school, and they were about 15km/h off
