Ive had 3 red venom bushings split on bear 852 and 840 trucks.

It seems to be that the hanger cuts into the sides of the bushings.

None of the other bushings Ive used (including venom of other duros/colours) have had this problem.

Has anyone else had this problem with them/this setup or am I just lucky?

when yo say splitting, do you mean in half or just the edges. if its just the edges its normal (depending on trucks) and over time/use those edges will round very smoothly.

I mean the edges (where the hanger leans into them) gets cut and the the bushing splits down the side.  It does not split to the point it falls off, but it does split to the point where the bushing has very little rebound and feels like a much softer duro.

I had this problem with the stock venom bushing that came in my randal 180s.

are you using cups or washer on the top of your bushings?

Neither (washers if anything).  It happens on the bottom bushing (the one between the hanger and the base plate) only.

mmm... I don't know then, I have seen on a friends bear trucks, the top bushing getting worn down, but never the bottom...

Thanks.  The odd thing is that it has happened to three red out of 4 red ones, but never to any others (even other duro venom bushings in the same trucks)
