ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Sydney downhill does not exist. No one skates down mountain roads. Everyone here sticks to the suburbs and local bombs. There are no good downhill runs in sydney. Everything is flat.

Please do not ask where to go skateboarding, because we dont know. We dont actually skate in sydney, we all ride scooters...

Hey Ben, Lansdowne is a beautiful hotmixed track (resurfaced about a year ago) Last year we held Gravity groove(casual freeride day with alot of stacks) there and had maybe 20-30 riders show up. It would be awesome for a slalom event however it isn't near much public transport. Last year Bugs setup slalom there which seemed pretty cool. it is similar to the pump station in width and probably skill level. with an up hill at the bottom so you can also ride back. there is a mad corner that is banked in. you'd hit about 60km p/h. I just thought today, it'd be good to have a get together and freeride to top the year off. The Sydney luge crew ride there regularly and take alot of new riders there.
I thought i'd open the invitation to anyone who wanted to come along and share the fun. Ryan..... 5 years ago there was no forums or sites for riders to meet or talk about what they were doing! the only way to survive was to use your initiative and contact everyone you knew so that you could keep the sport going. while your observational skills are remarkable, can you back it up by showing some networking skills? This sport is not like street skateboarding where you can get your parents to buy you the coolest gear and stand by the side of the skate park and be king Sh*t for the day. You have to get in there, meet new riders and hit the hills falls included. Good or bad riding, this downhill community stays together because we open our arms to everyone. If you come that'd be great as you will have the opportuniy to meet some Aus top downhill riders who competed at newtons and have experience, if not keep your smart arse comments to your Myspace or Twitter account.
