Ha yeah Dani i suppose the advances in technology and computer science it brought, the fact that this game was the godfather of computer sampled music, and the godfather of games such as TH Skate, this game (and it's music) arguably helped keep skateboarding alive and in the hearts of many kids and people during the late 80's when it was suddenly cooler to get drunk or sniff glue and get wasted, than to skate. I suppose the fact that you've now got your mp3 playing iphone or blackberry now, sat nav and a wii, a new set of 'tangs on your board, I suppose it is easy to see why YOU think it's irritating. The internal combustion engine also irritated me, lightbulbs, awful, what were they thinking? The skateboard irritated me when it first came out, what with the crappy wheels and limited trucks, I was wasting my time even trying to skate so I gave up because it was irritating, how was I supposed to take corners? But i save the most irritating thing for last: it's closed minded, narrow viewed, and uninformed people passing comparative judgment on the things that helped shape what and who we are, with little respect to what they may represent and what it has probably done for you. I honestly believe that cultural things (yes look it up, C U L T U R A L) such as this game are a huge reason skateboarding is here today, for you and me and everyone. Without culture, skateboarding IS dead.
