I reckon if the track was a little bit wider he would have slid to a stop on his hands and knees . If you watch closely when he knew he was gone his hands were out and his head up it was hitting the haybales that caused him to spin.
You can see he lost it immediately after the crest. When you're punchin it at speeds like that your board and bodyweight compress just before the peak, then the sensation of lifting off as your board drops below, while your bodywieght gets all light. Less weight on the wheels, less traction on the ground, then when gravity tries to balance things out your weight comes down and WHAMMO!
