Merrick and Sean, though that may have been one way to do it, that's not what I did.
It's stop motion in reverse speed. Shutter set at 1/500, over 1200 photos, taken over an hour and twenty minutes. Same goes for the end credits. Both were taken in Melbourne last year over Christmas.
oh just a tip when your doing it man, wind is your worst night mare, it can move the camera just enough to fuck the shot up, so make sure your tripod is good or is weighted abit so it wont move if there is abit of wind
merrick, all you need to do the opening is a tripod thats not going to move at all and some time, you pretty much shoot a really really long clip with out the camera moving and then speed it up (i normally go to about 400% speed) so you get the motion of the sky etc in it
