P5 Dual Hybrid Slalom, March 18 2006

Our first ever dual-lane race took place on an ominously cloudy day in the wide-open spaces of P5—the largest and most distant carpark at the Sydney Olympic complex.

Before the serious head-to-head stuff started we held a qualifying jam session to determine the seedings for the elimination rounds. Paul Price had the fastest time and went in as first seed.

But by the time the elimination rounds began, fitness was becoming a factor. Although Paul had the fastest time of the day he couldn't sustain his performance, and was pipped by Haggy in the final.

Thanks to everybody who helped out on the day, and to all the first-time racers. And thanks to Sk8kings for generously providing some gear for prizes.
