For the ditch race there is no qualifying - you turn up and pay $10 and that's it, you're in.

For head-to-head slalom you turn up, pay $10 and you get two timed qualifying runs. The fastest 32 people then go through to the head-head elimination rounds. The last few races there has been approximately 32 people entering, so virtually everybody goes through to the head-to-head rounds.
