Not accusing anyone one of anything. Just trying to help out a fellow rider who has ran into trouble with a little advise.
I seem to run into this problem all the time, the internet sucks for trying to convey a message without someone getting the wrong idea. I guess I'm not the best communicator.
A mate of mine cooked a gumball buttboarding down Kiera years ago. He never took advise believing his bearings were fine, and still believes it was a wheel problem trying to get a refund from Chaput.
Ceramic bearing just hold out longer with less friction when they wear out. They still wear out though don't get me wrong.
Ceramics can be bought new these days for about $35 a set shipped. I dunno why people bother with steel anymore.

I'm kinda with you on this fitz. The only reason a core could do this is if the bearing got abnormally hot. Seen it a few times now with different wheels and it has always tended to be the bearing. Most recently I had Guff melt a bearing just behind me and rip his Hawg off the truck. The issue was his old airflow bearings he refused to give up after 18 months because they seemed fast to him. Gave him the fright of his life

Bearing, Heat, Speed, Wheels, Weight...
All these things are possible factors, but no one really knows. :)
The nut and the bearing were gone at the bottom of the hill.
The main thing is Shane's alright, and is coming up again next weekend.
And thats why kids we all ride 8 balls. :)

You're all just jealous that you can't ride Stuart this weekend too. lol :P

You said it Grits, I don't care what exactly caused it, shit happens move on.
I just reckon it looks cool and next week I will try some ceramics and Big 80's to see how they go.
Mt Stuart is a beast of a hill and really tests all facets of equipment and rider.
And That's Why I Love It, Bring On Next Weekend Yee Ha!!!!! :)

There you go again Carl "Einstein" Manoff, you are the best Carl, Also you have the best Cornering style around. Smooooooth Very Smoooooooth, The only issue is I don't think the 8mm axles would put up with the wieght distribution when I am cornering, Not sure, guess I will have to try. Cheers Mate
