Kevin wanted to make the lightest precision truck possible, without sacrificing any strength. and guess what? he did. they are the lightest and apparently the strongest precision trucks on the market. now that probably doesn't mean anything to you, but to guys who push their gear to the limits (taking corners at 70+) small characteristics like that are very important and worth every cent.

wouldn't all the holes in the hangar seriously reduce the strength though?? looks like they would be kinda prone to bending..

nope, all the force is placed on the outside of the beam, works the same way as a foam core or an I beam

okay then

when you stand on your board the bottom of the deck is placed in tension. it is being pulled apart. The top of the deck is in compression. it is being pushed together. the middle of the deck is 'balanced' and feels no force - so why have it

this is what these trucks to, remove the middle bit which is useless. the bottom of the hanger feels a force, the top feels a force, but not the middle

yeah the way i understand this from an engineering stand point is that it would be stronger if it was sorta a cross beam setup as opposed to those oval shapes
