not all that well, this ones destined to snap:( but then again it was only a practice for my bamboo one (finally found a supplier) but that will cost me 75$ for the wood, which i don't have at the moment. Saggy flex, lots of creaking noises and looking at is about all this one's good for :(
Ohh, and when it says "fraphoc" at the top album name, should be 'graphic', yeah missed the keys.

(im his brother)
he used painters tape. and marked of certain sections.
it was a very long and grueling process with the graphic!
it took longer to do the the graphic than it did to make the board!

The graphic idea is originally from my boardshorts, i took a photo of my boardshorts graphic and put it on photoshop. I then played around it and arranged it how i wanted it on photoshop (onto a graphic i had made of the board shape) then printed onto 2 A3 sheets and stuck them together and cut out the board shape. I then taped the whole section of the board that i wanted to use in the graphic (about 2/3rds of it) with overlapping painters tape. Then i stuck down my graphic onto the board over the painters tape. Then, using a scalpel/knife i etched along the lines of the graphic, cutting through the graphic, the painters tape and scoreing the board quite alot. I then took off the overlaying graphic guide (which by now was completly cut up) and removed the masking tape from the part i wanted to be the lighter colour (the main board colour, not the graphic). (note: as you have cut through the masking tape into the board you should be able just to peel this off). Then, using a soft dish cleaning sponge thing i applied a first coat of varnish, which was the lighter wood stain mixed with mineral turpentine (atleast i think thats what it was, it was possibly methalated spirits) in the ratio of about 1:1, let it dry. Then i kept adding layers untill i was happy with the colour (the layers after first were undiluted). Try to stop these layers of varnish 'bleeding' under the painters tape by being very careful about where you apply the varnish to, i.e. dont go onto the painters tape if possible. Remove the painters tape. Now this was the part that wasnt exactly hard, but took alot of time. I got a thin roll of painters tape (around a third of masking tape width) and taped off the part of the board that i had varnished. Most of the time i had to cut each bit of masking tape in half down its length (making in narrower) so that i didnt go over the graphic 'line' next to it. When this whole grueling process is over you should have the graphic (the darker coloured part) uncovered and the rest of the area around the graphic covered in masking tape. I then, the same as last time, applied a first coat of varnish which was wood stain mixed with mineral turpentine (possibly methalated spirits) in the ratio of about 1:1, let it dry. Then i kept adding layers untill i was happy with the colour (these layers were undiluted). i then sprayed the whole board with clear spray on varnish, and added layers, letting each dry before putting on the next. I learnt all i have done (much harder to actually make the press) on silverfish.com (boardbuilding section) , and slightly from here. I dont think i forgot anything, sorry it was so long but hopefully it helps someone.
