nice work Wayno...these things turn like crazy without the spherical bearing...is this the secret weapon of Da Bear for CHC2010?

a spherical in the pivot* would reduce the amount of lean and slop you get from the truck yeah? Also, did you go to a bearing supplier or use a smokey spherical?

Not at all. It leans only a tiny amount. It actually turns rather than leans. Try yourself using a normal tuck loosened right off. This method reduces friction making for a smoother turn and because i'ts a hard bearing (steel not thane) it has better turn performance.

Nice job Bear.

So, A spherical makes the truck 'act like normal' to a point, then it stops leaning but continues to turn? have I got that right?

Correction: Spherical in the Baseplate Pivot (sorry)

Dylan- No i havnt done a hanger yet, i've done baseplates and pivots on,
trackers, RTX and 161?,
RII- 180, dont think its really wortht it but thought i'd try it, just as easy to clean the pivot up a bit.
Now Bennets.
I'll do a hanger soon just to try it, but i think sometimes they ride a bit cluncky.

Arran- Hambo gave me the bennetts on the weekend,
The baseplates on the bennett's, at the pivot are about 2mm,
wider than tracker so more suited to a larger 19od 10id bushing, than the tracker 16od 8id.
Bit of playin about gettting the right sized bit, then tryin diff pilots {made a few diff ones) for it.
Looks ok so far.
Bigger id on bushing means i'lll only have to take the pivot down 1 or 2 mm, so thats still strong.
Get this yestday, 43deg, Hewy lays an egg! Crazy stuff!

Dale- Like Fitzy said, spherical on the pivot removes "nearly" all friction/interrference from pivot point,
so the only restriction on the hanger is the bushings.
and as he said have a look at how the pivot works in a pivot cup,
then how the spherical pivot works, if youve got them side by side its obvious.
