I notice I am a little older when I stop to talk to kids with longboards and they look at me like I'm a pedo... ha ha ha

I didn't get the memo that you're supposed to stop with the wheeled tomfoolery once you hit 30. My knees are cagged but hey, what's a bit of agonising joint pain when there's fun to be had on a longboard.
Any other creaky old riders in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, give me a shout if your up for sessions. I'll try to fit it in between parenting, working too many hours, uni, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc......

Awaiting my first ever longboard. Live in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and would like to meet up with other riders. Haven't skated for a while, though but I'm keen as... Looking to start out cruising and some gentle slopes and maybe some laughs and tips along the way.

just Jojned thought I'd better say Gday ,) Turning 38 next month, been Skating since 1980 whan I lived in Melbourne but spent my teens on the Central Coast (NSW) and the last 18 years in Darlinghurst/Hills/Redfern... Had 3 torn cartilage removal/ arthroscopes on both knees (can't remember which one's been done twice, though apparently I'm close to 50% left in both (I get a free replacement next gig,) - so I mostly cruise, do hills and stuff these days and a few low impact maneuvers... Cheers

I'm another Paul, also 38 and also crashing regularly down here in Melbourne. Kind of funny when I roll up the sleeves of my business shirt at work to reveal grazed elbows. It breaks the mould of what people expect; also the mold of daily drudgery. My enthusiasm is far greater than my ability at the moment so falling happens a bit, but man what a rush.

38 and still crashing regularly, skipped about 20yrs in the middle, but been back about 6mths....and lovin it, have managed to spend loads already!! still cant skate tho... the gear thats available now just blows my mind!! lovin a down hill carve, cruise to the shops, even petrol skateboard to work!!
