so long as your reasonably light you can build your own without a press
buy a sheet of good quality ply (>12mm) and cut the shape out. Don't bother painting it, just grip it. Thrash that (which will happen to a dancer) and if you still like the idea of a dancer once that one's firewood, drop the cash on it.
Pros and cons of dancer
Pros
-you can dance (duh)
-more room for boardwalking
-normally has kicktails for shovits etc
Cons
-they're a b!tch to carry
-they feel dead to steer, you just keep leaning but dont go anywhere particularly fast
But yeah, build your own (save $350 odd bucks) to see if you like the idea, if you do, buy a 'proper' one
doesn't sound like your dancer was set up very nice...
the nose and tail on the loaded dancer are perfect for what they are needed for, the weight is amazing for any sort of manuals and with pairs 180s and some tall cone venoms, the turn is amazingly sharp for such a large board and standup slides aren't that bad

no thanks i'm aiight.
i'm happy enough to buy my dancer.
i just wanted peoples input on the board. i'm still buying it regardless of public opinion.
but thanks for the offer.
i should be fine dealing with the turning issue, especially since i've been riding an $80 longboard from big w that doesnt flex or turn.
and carrying it wont bother me either :)
