ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

firstly i wanna start by asking, has anyone ever ridden this before?

and i am pretty keen to do it with my mates, but they are biking it.
in the rules it says nothing about skateboards.

The Gong Ride is a one of a kind fundraising event. You can pedal 90km from Sydney to Wollongong on any day of the year but it’s only on the first Sunday of November that you’ll experience the camaraderie, fellowship, unity, safety, scenery and sense of achievement for pedalling in support of people living with MS. But be quick because numbers have been capped so places are limited! To maintain the safety and enjoyment of participants, local residents and other road users and in consultation with the NSW Police and the RTA, the event will be capped at 10,000.(pasted from site).

HI mate,
I have done it 3 times way back in the 80's and I know then you went through the national park where there were dirt roads to ride on. Since then they have the new coast road so it maybe tarmac all the way. Good ride on a bike would be sweet on a board, good luck
it is divided up into 6 different sections.

good idea if we are allowed to join, take advantage of being able to use the road.

are you thinking the 58km or the 90km? i was thinking the 90km until i saw the elevation profile of the track!

90km with those hills would be at least 6 hours of slogging away, where if you did the 58km you could take you time, do some nice carving etc and generally enjoy it a bit more.

also just noticed after paying your entry fee you have to raise a min of $250
all that profile shows is that there are some ups and downs. there's no scale.

but you're right it would be a very looong day. but hey, after canberra we'll be ready for it.

if you only do 58k you will feel like a copout. 90k or die!
ha, just called em and they said only bikes.

someone else also called and asked this morning about skateboards. who was it? ian, trav?
nah wasn't me.

después de que Canberra nosotros estaremos listos para Cuba! :)
