ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Neednotollie.com has recently cut a deal with the Auckland luge track which allows skaters to ride the concrete dream of banked corners and hair pins without having to walk back to the top. Instead riders just pick up their boards and step on to one of the 2 conveyor belts and take the 7 min 350m ride back to the top. There are 3 tracks that make up just over 2.2 km of hills and corners. Those wishing to ride must pass a brief skills and safety test before ascending the magic carpet to the top.
Its not free, a one time $15 fee for a track licence and further $10 per session(approx 2-2.5 hrs). So yeah you have to pay, but its as smooth as butter with no cars or pedestrians. For more info go to Neednotollie.com

this is what should be in centennial park

my cousin in NZ has told me the scene is sick and quiet vibrant ..... with many a run

Hmmmmmmmm.
Sick with runs?
My guess is it's Gastro.
Eeew!
Are many New Zealanders planning to come out this year to Newtons Games???
so its not crazy fast, but fast enough to be having fun, it is pretty technical? nicely...how wide is it?
There are about 10 of us so far planning on comin' to Newton's. As thetrack goes, the slow , technical course you can hit sixty, the fast track prob 8o but the track is only 3m wide in the straights and 3.5m in the corners, so it's tight and a bit tech. We're hoping to hold a super G style, one man timed runs at some point in the future. It is our hope that The other 2 tracks (Queenstown and Rotorua) will allow us to use their sites for races as well.
You could do one on one races like we had at Pump station, Master Of The Hill
a track like that you probs couldnt fit more than two dudes at one time... but then again it depends on the track i suppose... fuck i wanna go check that out, i remember the luge track in Queenstown is super gnar, the corners are so tight. i didnt actually ride it when i was there i went bungyjumping instead but from what i saw it looked sick. i wish i rode it on those little luge-carts it looked so fun
it was sick haha. i remember thinking it woulda been ridiculous to skate down though.
