thats the fish's answer and seems to have some good ideas. but down here we have different shops and was wondering how you guys made yours. i tried some the way original skateboards showed but it isnt sticking too good. everyone in that thread keeps talking about industrial strength velcro. where do you get this in australia and does it actually stick right on to glove fabric. also is there anywhere in australia that gives free samples of 'corian'. The blowtorch to cutting board method looks relliable but mum and dad dont want me using a blowtorch. they barely let me use a heat gun. thanks.

kwik grip glue onto regular velcro onto regular motoglove is fine bro. Plastic isn't like stickers, they don't just give it away.
i can certainly lie elaborately :)
Hey bro, this is how I do mine...
If you go to a fabric store (I went to Lincraft) You can get pretty heavy duty velcro (Whatever they have will be fine). You get some sticky back (adhesive), and some stitch-on (non adhesive). Then you need to find a plastic fabrication place (should be plenty around, usually places that can pre-fabricate perspex will be able to help) And ask fome HMD plastic (High molecular density, works better and lasts longer than mum's chopping board) You'll want two pieces at 115mm by 95 mm. And two at 140 by 45. (Both about 25mm thick) You should get some change from a twenty.
Then when it comes in, put strips of the sticky back velcro on one side of them all and there's your pucks. Then go to a shoe store (rebel sport, foot locker etc) And get some "Shoe Goo" This is what you're going to use to attach the stitch on-velcro onto your gloves. (Should be around twelve bucks)
Then, get a file or some sand paper and rough up the palm and inside fingers of your gloves (any sturdy gloves will do, squirt with lines of shoe goo, then apply your stitch-on velcro in strips. Use a brick or something heavy to keep pressure on your gloves till they dry (I usually wait 24 hours)
And there you are man, put the pucks on your gloves and your ready to go sliding. If you make a few extra pucks it's quick and easy to pull off the old ones and slap the new ones on.
If you need any more help or can't find something let me know homie.

whoa, massive pics, sorry about that.
theyre some chunky gloves,.can you grab your rail with those?
Yeah sorta........ maybe i should make those pucks a bit smaller huh? I'm still sketchy on sliding so my theory was to make them as big as possible so i didn't catch my fingers.

You can buy self adhesive velcro from a sowing or curtain shop. Costs 50cents a meter. No need for quick grip or shoe glue or super glue or anything else. Puck, glove, normal (doesn't have to be industrial) velcro and you have your glove.
Im agree with Robbo, thats how i make my gloves and i have never had a problem, Kwick Grip solves all my need to stick somthing problems.
whats kwik grip?
and thanks for the help all
Ado from Cre8ive told me the best sort of gloves on a budget are riggers gloves.
They're fairly thin but take a hammering. Then i just got a bunch of cutting boards from woolies.
Marked them at 8x8 and basically covers the whole palm. Got the velcro sewn on the gloves.
Then to put the hooked velcro on the gloves i just used the self adhesive stuff.
Got through tech inspection at newtons and held up. Lost one of them but, i was pretty cut hahah.
Hope that helps
Why do I hear everyone wanting corian?
Why not use the best? UHMW.
I've got shit loads of palm pucks available and 100% profits go to ASRA.
So far, no one has bought any pucks.
I've sold about 5 set's of gloves and I'm about to hand the proceeds over to ASRA this weekend.
2 questions fitz. partly answers. corian because thats what i read on the fish and apparently its free. it also said uhmw was better so am happy to buy that if the proceeds go to asra. also how much are gloves?
