I was just wondering:

Can loaded gloves be used in an igsa race?

And how good are they? like, do they wear through quickly if you do not use finger pucks?

I am looking at buying some because they are cheaper than most other gloves so i want to find out the pros and cons

Ching asked robbo before and he said that you'd have to wear a leather glove underneath the loaded gloves in a race, but we're still unsure if the glove underneath has to be full leather, or just leather on the palm and leather on the back of fingers till knuckles.
I have started making my own gloves it is fiddly but worth it $100 for a set of gloves is a bit steep + do you want to wear the same set of stinky germ infested gloves for more than 3 months ??

my loaded gloves have worn very fast and also the pucks are seperating from the velcro which gets tedious
"do you want to wear the same set of stinky germ infested gloves for more than 3 months ??"

ahem....guilty....

guff where did you get those gloves?
yeah i have made a few sets of my own but just use chopping board and they are just cheap and loose fitting. i just want a good pair so im looking professional at newtons and want some good pucks

yup got the same problem. i've had a few sets of leather gloves i made on my own but they've all been all really loose fitting and come off easily. i wouldnt mind splurging on some landyatchz gloves (or whatever i can use at newtons) but cant even seem to find a medium anywhere (even then i think it'll be too big for me).
its good that other people are in the same boat as me um check out the gloves here they look sweet and would be fitting http://www.earlyskateboards.com/

Hey ching is it the fingers that are too long ??Api you can buy good plastic dude just have to look for it
more like the overall size of the glove is too big. so my hands slip out easily. long fingers isnt really a problem for me. yeah im thinking of getting the earlys if i cant find a cheaper option. guess i gotta head down to bunnings soon see if they've any new gloves in stock.

Definitely make your own.
Just get some mechanic/riggers gloves from a hardware shop and glue/whip-stitch some loop to the palm.
You should be able to buy small amounts of UHMW from specialist plastic shops, they often have small bits just lying around.
Glue the hook to the puck using the plastic-specific glue that woolies started stocking recently, it uses a primer - most glues fail-hard at uhmw.
your idea sounds good for connecting the pucks steve i have some problems with velcro. i have 1 puck of uhmw that i got off a mate that stuffs awesome i will try look for more
Sorry everyone. We have had all sizes in Landyachtz gloves for months. The website stock numbers were incorrect.
I've updated the price and also changed to free shipping.

I'll also be getting in more timeship racing gloves. Just waiting on what stock they have.
Ching, there low profile gloves would be good for you if they are still available. When I know what is coming I'll post up.

hop
