ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

OK folks, we're back after just a three-day break. The ASRA team has landed in Bathurst, and despite advance warnings of how cold it is we've still been surprised - it's brutally cold. My first task here was to buy some fingerless gloves and a very attractive hat:

Once suitably warmed we got settled into our luxury digs before heading out for some twilight mini-ramp action at the festival site. It's a 6' ramp, so more of a maxi-mini really, and it took its toll with Trav and Haggy taking some hard slams.

A blurry Trav heads for the coping, while Haggy, Blackwood, Pete and the Van of Love look on

Yes, it was cold up there. Bring your woolies. See you tomorrow. Rider check-in starts at midday at the Flannery Skillset Centre.

Trav styling up the startline

Almost every heat I've seen has had someone drafting to overtake just short of the finish for 1st or 2nd. Intense racing on the straight!

There's been a lot of drafting and passing on Conrod, more than I remember than at any other year.

The rest miss out.

Go Charlie!!!!

Christoph Batt takes out the $1,000 shootout, with a time of 60.230, the fastest time of the weekend, even faster than the fastest luge run.

Yatesy qualifies first in classic and Duff first in street luge.

can't comprehend how these guys get down the hill so fast, bloody amazing!

There's been some epic pogo-stick riding here at the ASRA camp. Trav's cigar, beer and green astro-turf coat combined with downhill pogo action was particularly special, but Louis Pilloni was the clear pogo champ.

Bugs does racing start at 9 am tomorrow and who is up first? Just working out what time the computer needs to be on and the beer chilled in kiwi land. Thanks

see you guys at the hill at 9.30 hopefully
