theres not really much you can do there man. theres a lot of wood missing and i think if it had another head-on the first thing to go is the baseplate! its all good though if you saw the state that Kibbling's Drop Speed is in you would feel a lot better, its worse than that and has lasted him a loooooooong time. and i know kibbling well, he smashed his gear around like no tomorrow!
its one of those things you will just have to deal with and ride it with pride =)
oh noes!!!! a drop speed!!!!!!!!!

that would suck dude, i dont think that you are able to fix something that bad

robbo will know what to do!
Do you still have the other piece? If so you might be able to epoxy it back to where it should be and then sand it back top and botttom and apply a fibreglass 'splint' to both sides going back to where the board starts to curve for the platform if you get my drift.
You could try and get card board or more ply, cut it in the shape of the missing chunk. hold it in place on the board with gaffa or glue (this is not for strength but to get your shape). then get a roll of fibre glass mat (not chop strand, it looks like a bandage) and wrap around the whole head a few times. soak it with loads of polyester resin until it is transparent then sand it all smooth when it is dry. you may have to re drill or recut the truck cut out.
This is just a thought and something i would try. it may give back strentgh or it may just not work at all. at the end of the day it can't look any worse.
looks like steve and I think alike (both wrote the same thing at the same time)

Great minds Phil! haha
Put some chewing-gum or some blue-tack on the broken bit.
yeah dude, kibbling was dropping an 8 set with a similar board injury!
see how you go with fiberglass, but because there's gonna be a bit of movement and vibration, i'm not sure how it'd go, i reckon your best bet is to screw a bit of plate across the top.
or not worry about it, and shred harder cause you're not scared of trashing yer deck.....

Doesn't matter dude. The bolt holes are still in shape. It happens to every drop speed eventually. It might be worth putting some sort of bumper on there now so next time you do it it doesn't break through those first 2 bolt holes or like Whacko said, break your base plate.
yet another smashed nose on a dropspeed...i done the same to mine after about 2 weeks mate and ive seen endless decks with the same problem..yates has both ends gone on his...just cut that gnarly looking sharp section of and go hard bro itll still last for ages

i smashed this into a gutter by mistake last year and it still serves me well. i took it on a 4 and a half month trip through europe and canada like this and its still good to go... i know its not as bad as what yours looks like, but just to let you know that it does happen and it still works =)
