First time sliding. What wheels should i pick?
Hey there.
I have been riding Longbaord for about 6 mouths. I have recently ordered a pair of Landyatchz Sliding Gloves.
The only other question is. What are the most easiest wheels to learn how to drift/slide. I don't care about how bad they are DH or carving, as i am buying a whole new set up for X-Mas.
Really apprecaite the help guys.

this question has been posted twice in a few days, use the search button in the future bud....but i ride otang stims 86a and they slide really well, learned how to slide on them, good for beginning.

OK thanks mate. Yeah, i just wasn't sure if you know where i was coming from, as i might even through these wheels away when i have mastered sliding. But yeah apprcaite it mate. what do you look for when you pick a sliding wheel. bigger duro?? smaller wheel?? I was thinking even maybe a Orangatang 65mm 86a??

they last for ever and slide well. i've cored otangs in two days, these things are still on 105mm

LOL! I new to the sport but...... come on. I know the bigger the wheel the harder it is to slide. Plus the flywheels a hard iner core, Hopkin skate shop told me to stay away from the flywheels. :(

try out some 69mm 83a speed balls (green) they are a really nice smooth sliding wheel and surprisingly long lasting. been sliding on mine for moonths and they are barely coned. Just remember when you begin to slide to swap your wheels around on the board so that one side doesn't get complete worn down and the other is still useable.
Also try 86a otang stims

Hey Andrew most wheels with a rounded lip will do the job for sliding and look for 83a or above, otherwise your gumballs will be ok once they are worn in

I am riding at the moment "Abec 11 Flash Back 70mm 78a" But they are a square edge. What do you think? Do you think i should just try and learn how to slide with those or go to Hopkin and buy a pair of new ones?

Just learn to slide on your flashies. The lips should round off sufficiently. I learnt to slide on Vault 78A wheels. Chattery as all hell and by no means the greatest urethane ever poured but it's more about your technique than the wheel. If you can ride bad equipment well, you can ride good gear even better.
Once you work out how to control your slides then it's worth spending your money on a good slide wheel. There are so many companies bringing out killer freeride wheels now, you're spoiled for choice. Just rock up to Hopkin once you're ready.
