There are a few companies out there that look after longboarders, i reckon we should all share our good stories to let each other know about them so we can support the ones that support us.
I'll start
Ado at cre8tive is a ROCK, he is always good. He is always my first point of reference.
Voodoo swapped me a set of paris 195's for a deck, rad.
Jacko swapped me Paris 180's and a set of durians for a deck. Very cool.
Then there is this one that was totally unexpected. I bought some wheels off lesso ages ago, 75a 76mm 9balls, they did not have enough space between the bearing seats (dunno if that makes sense?) so when set up with bearings, spacers and speed rings and cranked down they spun fine but moved side to side around 1mm or so. I contacted sector nine and told them the story with full disclosure of the fact i bought them from lesso and that lesso was traveling with louise and jacko etc. i exchanged a few emails, "yeah i know" "maybe i need sector 9 spacers" "i been making boards, here is a pic or two" "longboarding is cool" yada yada yada. Apparently the wheels were trial sample wheels that never made it to production. Then they said "we will try and send you some racing formula's" i nearly fell off my chair, re read the email 20 times looking for the catch. No catch.
All went quite,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
two days ago i got an email from the sector nine, billabong sales rep,
Hey Adam -
Hope you are well -
Nick Sacks forwarded me your email and said that you are looking for some
Race formula wheels -
Here is our availability on them - I have included the scanned pdf from
our catalogue to check out the styles -
If you would let me know which 2 sets you would like that would be great.
Just send me your address and I will send them straight out to you on promo.
I rang him and yes, it's true they want to give me 2 sets of wheels.
