ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

well the SGS has thrown me into a bit of a spin, not sure on my quiver to take, trying to travel light and am thinkin of taking only my D/H board and 'try' to pimp it to suit the s.g.s. Just wondering how many boards you guys are taking and witch ones, is it possible to set the s.g.s to suit downhill boards or are you guys gunna be trying hard to set it so that its ridable on a traditional slalom setup. If you guys are willing to share yo secret b.t.b quiver or enlighten me on anything would be greatly appreciated. p.s. i know u guys havent seen the hill yet either, but u must know somthin..haha.

We will not be sure what the course will be like until the ASRA guys set it on Friday arvo. The course will be marked on the road, so you'll see it as you ride on Saturday and so will be able to start setting up boards to suit. I know that doesn't help you decide what to pack but at least you'll have a chance to check out what you are in for on Sunday.

Cheers

hey folks,
Some people have been asking me as well what the SGS might be like.
My answer - I really have no clue at this point. I haven't seen the road, don't know how fast it will be, etc...
It will be a bit of an experiment so let's have fun with it.
I will be bringing my GS slalom board and my downhill rig. If its a course that's makable on the GS rig then of course anyone is welcome to borrow it for the race.
It might be a fast, on-edge, side-to-side course makable on slalom boards. Or it might be a touch too fast and involve a longboard/dh board with turny trucks and a fair bit of controlled sliding... we shall see... Whatever it is it will be fun!
