ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Sooo since I just got my bf a new dh board I'm thinking of getting one for myself as well.

I still want to be able to cruise around and do some standup slides. I'm about 169cm and 52kgs.

Preferably a deck below $280?? As for trucks, I was looking at randals or bear grizzlys but I'm really not sure.

Thanks alot.

For trucks i would definitely recommend randal trucks over bears just because of the baseplate options. for a deck i would look into the drop wedge, its a nice compact dh board and dropped through. As for wheels i would get some bigz
They're selling the dropwedge for $309 on boardshop :S

As for wheels I'm thinking of slapping on my p-otangs 4-prez.
Rayne nemisis at boardshop nemisis shorter, lighter but same wheelbase as most DH boards and large usable platform area for sliding

Bamboo

Length: 39 inches.

Width: 10.25 inches.

Wheelbase: 32 or 33 inches.

or else look at a Glyde $265 shipped australian made Dh goodness

Length: 1.05m or 39 ½ inches
Width: 25.5cm or 10 inches
Drop: 3.8cm or 1 ½ inches
Wheel Base: 82.5cm or 32 ½ inches
Usable Platform: 70cm or 27 ½ inches
new glyde isn't far off either ;)
consider your weight... Being light you dont want a big thick and heavy board, because it would be harder to throw around. You want something a bit lighter than normal and you will find you will have a lot more fun controlling it than a bigger, thicker board... Finding good decks below $280 could be hard so have a look at some of the other brands out there who offer boards just as good but dont have the 'big brand labels' on them...

maybe the drop wedge from FSU?

the FSU pro race super drop looks pretty awesome. too bad its not in stock. the new glyde drop deck also looks really nice but may be abit heavy\

hmmm the nemesis looks fun. although it does look a little wide.

anyone ever ridden any fsu boards and can give me any feedback on them??
FSU decks are nice - mellow concave, well-made.

If you're more interested in cruising around rather than serious speed, a Loaded Dervish might be a good choice. They have a bit more flex than other decks and so get a little unsteady at high speeds, but they're solid enough up to about 50km/h, which is lot faster than "cruising around". The extra flex helps them turn tighter at slower speeds, and just feels nice.
its not a bargain coz its got force trucks...
