ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

As you will be aware any rider at this event under 18 on the day of the event will be expected to have a parent or guardian present to countersign the waiver form. I want to make a few things clear about these guardians, as well as some other things younger riders need to consider.

1. It is fine for your parents to entrust you to another adult for the event, however each adult guardian is to only be responsible for a maximum of 2 riders that are not their own children.

2. It is expected that the guardian/parent will be present at the course whilst the riders they are supervising are riding. If something goes wrong we don't want to be having to search all over Townsville for the adult responsible for the rider.

3. There will be a lot of very experienced older riders at this event, some of them will be heros to some of the newer younger riders. Please respect the fact that these guys are here to have fun and ride. I am sure they will be happy to give people tips and suggestions on how to ride the hill, but they are not here to babysit younger crew, they are coming up to ride and have fun. Please don't pester them.

4. This is a fun weekend when crew get to have heaps of runs down one of the best hills in Oz with the road closed and legal to ride. We don't want to risk this event because someone does something silly on one of the vehicles heading back up the hill. Any behaviour that risks other riders or the event will result in that person being asked to leave the event and they will not be allowed back on the hill.

me having to sign his life away
At Newton's we had waivers for every rider to sign, but hadn't prepared for groms (who can't sign anything - too young to hold a pen?). A few moments of concern/panic before we rustled up the required guardians.

So Ado you're a step ahead here...
That's us, a step ahead of the pack (;-)>

Yea, we also need something in writing from the parent signing over their Grom to the nominated responsible adult!
I'm glad its a charity freeride, After my last injury it would of been a hard one to get a signature off Mother hahaha........

Mum's are easy to get around. Public displays of affection from their son's always works. Just make sure you give her a hug and kiss in front of your mates when you are going for a skate and she'll be putty in your hands (;-)>

Geez, I hope she doesn't read this forum or I'll be toast next time she sees me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahaha,
I'm so telling your mum!
