hey so i am getting a slalom setup and i was wondering if a skennett would be a worthwhile investment? after riding marek's splitfire i figure trucks make a big improvement over the rtx/s combo but im not gonna be spending big bucks on gogs or virages anytime soon. so has anyone got one or ridden one and can give some feedback? because with the aussie dollar being strong it seems like a nice investment for a beginner upgrade

Hi Boz,
Have a read of this thread and try doin a DIY on a RT-X or an Ace,
if your ok with metal work its fairly easy, cheap as and makes a shitload of difference.

A skennett truck is definitely a great choice for slalom trucks, however if you are looking to upgrade just ONE truck i would suggest going for the back truck instead. That is where you power and traction come from. You can leave a front truck loose and turny and it will be sweet whatever it is, but if you put some more punch into the rear you will find acceleration to be a lot higher and you will have more power/traction when you pump. i would suggest getting an Airflow rear truck, the 105mm... those things are definitely sweet trucks, off-set hangers for more power and traction. I've got one for sale if you want it...
thanks bear for the info, i will check it out but i have absolutely no metal work experience, pretty sure i just cut out ninja stars from sheetmetal in highschool for two terms and failed the subject haha. how much is the airflow rear going for jacko? i'm pretty sure it will be out of my price range though. and could it be paired with narrower front trucks? because i'm not sure how wide the trackers are that i'm getting off guff
i also have a 95mm one if you want, it comes with long axles and spacers to widen out the hanger width if you want to. i can do it for $150
ok i haven't ever ridden one before so any chance of having a few runs on it at the next slalom session? i will think about it, gotta see how much cash i have to throw at this setup first
I'd recommend the narrower Airflow. You can make the narrow ones wider, but you can't make the wider ones narrower.

I also recommend a Bennet or Skennet for the front rather than a Tracker.
Bennets are 110mm wide, the narrowest Trackers are 106mm wide.

Nothing wrong with running the rear truck narrower than the front...
